Pada Hari Minggu Ku Turut Ayah Ke Jogja

The weekend is a time of leisure for most people—a moment when we can pause from our daily routines. However, my experience of the weekend as an outsider feels quite different. While weekends usually make the streets around the capital appear quieter, the same cannot be said for Yogyakarta, a city that is a major tourist destination.
Instead of becoming calmer, weekends here feel more crowded, leading to congestion in many areas. This is further exacerbated by the large number of hotels that provide accommodation for tourists but lack adequate parking spaces, turning road shoulders into convenient parking areas. In addition, many tour buses deliberately park along the sides of the roads to avoid parking fees.
These two issues are what I attempt to critique through this work, by creating a parody of these situations—framed as a kind of utopian solution.
